Event Details

The PPN Mental Health Conversations began in 2010 with a question: "Can we talk about mental health and mental illness?" On January 19th 2012, The University of Edinburgh will be signing the 'See Me' Pledge, committing to action to challenge stigma and discrimination relating to mental health and illness issues.

Our topic for this Conversation is "Can we talk about mental health and mental illness in the University of Edinburgh?" Clearly some folk in the University do as part of research or teaching activities. But how do we as staff, students and other members of the University and wider communities talk about mental health matters in the workplace?

To facilitate the fullest possible participation by all who come to the Conversation, brief 'prompts' will be given by Dr Sue Cowan (Occupational Health Psychology Consultant), Ann Diment (Health and Safety Manager and Biological Safety Officer, School of Biomedical Sciences), and Sheila Williams (Director, Student Disability Services)
